Day 3 highlights

As we lie on our beds, exhausted from yet another 120 miles, we are also feeling very very proud of ourselves for such a fabulous effort today.

At times the Mojos had to dig so deep. The last 30 miles really was a slog and with the culmination of around 320 miles in 3 days, things are starting to feel tough.

The personal ‘admin’ involved in this trip is large too. Ensuring you always have enough food, breakfast is sorted, time to leave in the morning is discussed, having all nutrition on the bike, having clean cycle clothes and making sure the bike is running smoothly. They all take time on top of an already tired body and mind.

It’s commendable enough to cycle a 9 day challenge over 940 miles. It’s even harder when the pace is actually more like an 8 day pace with 2 shorter days at the end.

But Mojos are being heroes. Helping each other out, all picking each other up when energy gets low. I love riding with every single one of them and the laughter and fun they bring to the group.

We were met by Di’s mum and dad and her husband today. Such a boost for her.

Mabel joins us tomorrow to continue her Lejog that she has started. Stopping briefly today for the day to celebrate her son’s wedding which looked spectacular.

Big shout out to Emma who is valiantly riding with such confidence. Back in February Emma had a crash and separated her shoulder. Through intensive physio she has got herself back on track and is acing this challenge.

Tonight we are in Telford. We have been through the outskirts of Bristol this morning, taking 2 hours to wind around the roads to cross the bridge to Wales.

We had a lovely decent to Tintern Abbey for coffee and cake. Next we wound through the Wye Valley and the rain arrived. On to Leominster and finally Hereford.

A delightful stop in the town of Ludlow (beautiful) then one last slog through stunning country lanes to arrive in Telford for a much needed meal and then more ‘bike admin’, shower, stretch and bed.

Tomorow we end up North of Preston.

But what a day. And what truly amazing ladies we are riding with on this journey.

Thankyou for following us. The tracker will be back up and running first thing in the morning
